Remote Upload

Remote Upload is a powerful feature that allows you to upload files directly from SonicBit to your cloud storage services without using your local device's bandwidth or storage.

What is Remote Upload?

Remote Upload enables you to transfer files from your SonicBit storage directly to various cloud storage providers. This means:

  1. Files upload at server speeds (often faster than your home connection)
  2. Uploads continue even when you're offline
  3. You don't need to download files to your device first
  4. Your local device doesn't use bandwidth or storage during the upload

This feature is especially useful when you want to save files to multiple cloud providers without the hassle of downloading and re-uploading from your local device.

Key Benefits

  • Efficiency: Transfer files directly without downloading them to your device first
  • Speed: Server-grade connections offer faster upload speeds than most residential connections
  • Convenience: Manage uploads from anywhere, even when you're offline
  • Resource Saving: Save your local bandwidth, storage space, and battery life
  • Multi-Cloud Management: Upload the same files to multiple cloud services without repetitive downloads

  • Error Notifications: Information about failed uploads with error details
  • Status Updates: Regular status updates to track progress

Plan-Based Limitations

Your subscription plan affects what you can do with Remote Upload:

  • Upload Speed: Free users have limited bandwidth (typically limited to a specific b/s rate)
  • Premium Access: Some cloud providers may only be available to paid subscribers
  • Simultaneous Uploads: Higher-tier plans allow more concurrent uploads
  • Feature Availability: Some plans may have limited or no access to the Remote Upload feature

If you need faster speeds or access to more cloud providers, consider upgrading your plan.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with Remote Upload, here are some common solutions:

Connection Issues

  • Verify your cloud service credentials are still valid
  • Check if you've reached storage limits on your cloud provider
  • Ensure your SonicBit account has the necessary permissions

Upload Fails to Start

  • Verify the file exists in your SonicBit storage
  • Check that you have sufficient quota on your cloud provider
  • Ensure your cloud service authorization hasn't expired

Slow Upload Speeds

  • Free plan users have bandwidth limitations
  • Some cloud providers may throttle incoming traffic
  • Server load might affect performance during peak hours

Authentication Errors

  • Re-authenticate your cloud service by removing and re-adding it
  • Verify your login credentials for FTP and similar services
  • Check if the cloud provider has changed their authentication methods
note

Remote uploads count against your upload bandwidth quota. Premium users enjoy higher or unlimited bandwidth for faster uploads.
